Film ini terinspirasi dari mitologi klasik Mesir. Kelangsungan hidup umat manusia saat ini tergantung pada keseimbangan, sebagai pahlawan yang tak terduga Bek (Brenton Thwaites) mencoba melakukan perjalanan untuk menyelamatkan dunia sekaligus cinta sejatinya. Demi mencapai keberhasilannya, Bek meminta bantuan dewa Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau)untuk melawan Set (Gerard Butler). Set adalah dewa tanpa ampun dari kegelapan yang telah merebut tahta Mesir. Pertempuran besar yang terjadi juga menjadi sebuah tes keberanian sekaligus pengorbanan bagi para dewa dan manusia. 

Set, the merciless god of darkness, has taken over the throne of Egypt and plunged the once peaceful and prosperous empire into chaos and conflict. Few dare to rebel against him. A young thief, whose love was taken captive by the god, seeks to dethrone and defeat Set with the aid of the powerful god Horus.
